Beleaf Cannabis Description Chimera is a hybrid cannabis strain with an almost cult-like following. Treasured for her complex aromas and uplifting, energizing effects, Chimera makes for a standout daytime smoke. Read on to learn all there is to know about the Chimera cannabis strain. History of the Chimera Cannabis Strain Chimera is a strain most commonly attributed to BeLeaf Cannabis—a breeder based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. BeLeaf says he's had a passion for gardening since the age of 10 and admits to being introduced to cannabis at age 12 after finding his mom's stash of Mexican brick weed. After smoking it with some friends, it was love at first sight, and not long before BeLeaf started experimenting with growing the seeds contained in his mom's supply. As his passion for cannabis grew, BeLeaf found and preserved a wide pool of genetics, some of which he has been releasing through the BeLeaf Cannabis brand since 2015. Genetic Lineage of Chimera Chimera is a hybrid strain descending from White Truffle and The Creature. White Truffle, as its name suggests, has a dense, dank, and savory aroma. A phenotype of Gorilla Butter (Peanut Butter Breath x Gorilla Glue), White Truffle produces dark flowers with plenty of frosty resin. Its aroma is very strong and skunky, with upfront notes of cream, butter, and nuts. Its flavor, meanwhile, tastes like toasted onions sauteed in generous amounts of butter, and its smoke has an equally greasy, thick texture. Finally, White Truffle's effects can be felt almost instantaneously, producing a strong sense of mental relaxation that's quickly followed by a growing body buzz. Users with a tolerance might enjoy White Truffle in the evenings as they finish up chores or engage in creative activities, while less experienced users may prefer White Truffle closer to bedtime. The Creature, meanwhile, is a sativa-dominant strain bred by BeLeaf and sold under the Love Seeds moniker. Like many Love Seed strains, The Creature stems from a batch of seeds produced by plants that hermied in response to light failures at one of BeLeaf's off-the-grid farms. The Creature's exact lineage isn't known, but the strain is said to demonstrate strong sativa traits and produces long flowers with natural foxtails and tons of resin. The Creature's aroma is strong and fruity, with notes of peach and nectarines as well as an intense, gassy finish. Its effects are uplifting, starting behind the eyes and elevating the mood while simultaneously relaxing the body. Physical Characteristics of Chimera Chimera is a hybrid cannabis strain that produces stout plants with dark green foliage. As they transition out of veg, however, Chimera plants are known to stretch to almost double their height, adopting an impressive structure once mature. Generally speaking, Chimera flowers are a light wintergreen but, depending on the conditions in which they're grown, can also take on a stunning mix of purple, orange, red, and blue hues. Combined with their thick coating of trichomes (which could easily be mistaken for real, icy frost), this strain offers a ton of bag appeal. Properties and Effects of Chimera Chimera is known to be extremely potent and has received a lot of hype from users of all types for its strength and delicious aromas/flavors. Depending on the batch, Chimera can contain anywhere between 20–27% THC along with an exotic mix of terpenes. Limonene, caryophyllene, pinene, humulene, and guaiol tend to dominate Chimera's terpene profile, though the strain may also contain linalool and other common cannabis terps. Crack open a jar or bag of well-cured Chimera buds and you'll be greeted by a strong aroma of sugary, fruity cereal and jam. Below the sweetness, you'll also notice an upfront earthiness, almost reminiscent of wild mushrooms, moss, or crispy grilled waffle/pancake batter. Break apart Chimera's frosty nugs and take another big whiff as her subtler aromas of cream, skunk, and tobacco come to the foreground—some users compare the aroma of Chimera to that of a freshly buttered and jammed scone or biscuit. When you finally light her up and inhale Chimera's thick smoke or vapor, your palate will be hit by a complex mix of fruity sweetness, doughy earthiness, and lingering notes of zesty skunk.
